Process

How do I move my line and calls to Option Telecom?

Just download and complete the application and direct debit forms and send them to us with a complete copy of your last bill. It is particularly important that we have the full postal address relating to the premises where the line is installed.  We apply to take over the line which is normally transferred in 10 working days (Feature Lines can take longer). The application forms, terms and conditions and direct debit mandate are available here. The completed forms can be posted to us or e-mailed to sales@optiontelecom.co.uk.

We bill you monthly in advance for line rentals and monthly in arrears for your calls on one invoice and collect the payment by direct debit. You receive your invoice by email detailing your line rentals and a call summary. A full call listing is also sent with the invoice as a PDF and in CSV format for loading into a spreadsheet or database for analysis.

If your business has multiple sites we can optionally provide a site breakdown.

What happens next?

There is a standard 10 working day switchover period during which time you will probably receive a letter from your current provider. They may attempt to scare you into thinking that you are about to lose service on your lines, but there will be no break in service.

Are you tied into a long-term contract with your current supplier?

A recent OFT ruling has decided that your current supplier cannot charge you large amounts to get out of your contract early, so you no longer have to wait years for the contract to expire or face a large penalty charge if you want to move away from them.
